As I speak my website is finally uploading! I can’t wait for all the problems to arise after I check and see if it’s actually on the Web!
It’s been about 4 weeks since I picked up my keyboard and decided to do this. I can honestly say that I’ve enjoyed the experience, although it’s been rather frustrating at times. I think it’s been extra difficult because I’ve been programming in a really numbskull way, and if I had learned the CSS that I still don’t know FIRST, I think the site would be more attractive, and a lot more functional. Oh well! As they say in Hollywood, it’s all in the rewrite!
I have Lynda.com to thank for pretty much all of what I DID learn. Video tutorials are the best way to learn anything I think, that and podcasts. With the soothing sounds of, er, “what’s his face” on the Dreamweaver tutorial course, I created a real website! (I think it’s Gordon Chow. It’s G/C something 🙂
In the coming weeks I will be adding content to the blog mostly, then I’m going to delve into the CSS world, a new learning curve and all that. I hope you enjoy reading along!
