There’s a paperback edition of Felicia’s book (with a new chapter!), so she’s going on tour! Where’s she going? The real question is …when… You know, like, time travel. Not the calendar. Though I guess that part too.

I went to Rome and was so jet lagged I decided to be adventurous and go to a graveyard and be artsy and read poetry. I got a lot of sleep that night though and then did nothing but eat pizza and antipasti for the next three days. And wine. Lots of wine. Too much wine. Sigh. Italian people make it look SO EASY TO EAT AND DRINK ALL THE TIME! It actually gets pretty tiring, I mean, chewing burns calories guys. Just…not enough. I also saw a lot of priests who were the hottest. Am I gonna burn in hell? It’s fine. I can’t help if that uniform is as hot as a fireman’s. Just…ok I’ll stop.

Go to feliciadaybook.com to pre-order! “You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost)” will be out in August and your pre-orders help a lot to show booksellers that it’s worth picking it up. Because some of them probably don’t know who the hell I am, lol. I’ll be doing a book signing tour and lots of other cool things, so check back at the website in the coming months for dates. I’m so excited to be able to talk about this because MAN have I worked hard on it and not had a lot of interesting things to say OTHER than “I’m working on a book” but then I couldn’t say that because it was unannounced, so I just would tweet about food, and then I started watching more TV to have interesting things to say to you guys, which worked out well for me because turns out I enjoy lots of TV. (Did you see that Shield finale last night? CRAY!) Anyway, I’ll be talking about this over and over a lot, but I poured my soul into it, so I’ll be borderline annoying for a bit, k? Leave your vlog suggestions below too, I appreciate the prompts! XOOXXOXOXOXOXOXO
I’m running out the door to get tacos because I’m judging a comedy hack competition tonight and need nacho cheese in my belly it’s really important for me to have taste, not tongue taste bud taste, but VIBE taste, you know?! I love me some queso, it’s nectar of the creative gods. Anyway, also look for a big announcement on this channel Wed, COME BACK IT’S WORTH IT!
Soo it’s really gloomy here in LA and all I wanna do is eat soup and be angry at people. I am not meant for grey weather, it really chaps my craw, whatever that means. I love Seattle and Vancouver, but for some reason I think the whole region is trying to trap me into thinking, “Hey this place is gorgeous, screw LA I’m going NW” because when I visit, it’s always clear and pretty, and the minute I pack all my stuff in the car and drive up and sign a lease or something, BOOM grey depressing cloudy cold-ness will say, “GOTCHA FOOL!”. I think 61 degrees is pretty freezing, so that shows you what I hot house flower I am and how I could never live in the region where people appreciate good coffee. I’ve never lived anywhere there’s been snow, actually, just sleet and a bit of ice, so the first time I saw snow was when I was like 21, and I flopped in it and said, “LOOK SNOW ANGELS!” and promptly got ice all down my underwear, seeping down my leg. I had NOT peed myself but it certainly looked like it, and I was at Sundance film festival meeting fancy filmmakers, so that was very un-awkward. Okay, I’m going to Zumba class to feel self-righteous about my ass being widened by sitting and playing Dragon Age Inquisition, then I’m gonna go sit on my ass and play Dragon Age Inquisition all night. Then I’ll stop playing at midnight and think, “Wow you could have been writing for 3 hours.” Cue a sleepless night of self-loathing. WHAT A CUTE PSYCHOLOGICAL CYCLE!
Also I’ll be streaming more Grimrock 2 on Thursday night at twitch.tv/feliciaday be there!
I started streaming videos so please go to twitch.tv and give my account a follow! twitch.tv/feliciaday I feel like I could sit there and play video games 12 hours a day on that service, so I need to moderate myself in entering this new world, but I had a GREAT time because people in chat give you advice the whole time, which I need because most the time I learn everything the hard way in games ha! We are shooting a ton of videos this week at Geek and Sundry and my brain is about to explode but I think we’re gonna have some cool stuff to show you around Halloween. Also, Tabletop is shooting and I love hanging out on that set watching people play games. And playing myself, sometimes too much because people’s schedules change last minute and then they’re like, “Get Felicia in there!” So anyone bitching that I’m in too many episodes of that show can go to hell, because I don’t WANT to be in more than 2 a season, and also I’m a producer and created the show with Wil, so go to hell again. I haven’t had coffee yet so this is extra not-witty, so maybe I’ll rewrite it in a few hours. Nah. SEE YOU LATERZZZZ
I was going to do a little talking head video intro to this, but I didn’t. Because I didn’t want to wash my hair. Might as well be honest about it. I’m not a dirty person, but I worked out this morning and…okay, honest? I didn’t work out. But I put on spandex pants and DIDN’T eat a croissant, so that was practically working out, right? I mean, if you’re physically WEARING the workout clothes, that counts as 50%, and by resisting the extra calories I was totally SAVING MY HEALTH. So, basically I’m Richard Simmons. True story, I was doing a voiceover job and somehow Richard Simmons was on the job too, and he came in just as I was leaving, sat on the floor and started ROLLING AROUND with his Chihuahua. THEN he stood up, looked me straight in they eye and said, “You are beautiful” and kissed me gently on the lips. I had just met this man, but I couldn’t stop him. I was too freaked out. Then he skipped into the recording booth. I think he’s 80 years old. I hope I do whatever the hell I want when I’m that age, I’ll assault attractive men EVERYWHERE.
I was going to put this whole thing up unedited, but I had a few brain farts that led to some profanity and then I ate some pineapple. So I had to do a few cuts. I could have done more but I’m busy rewriting a big project and as much as I’d like to procrastinate and edit videos, I really need to get my ass in gear on that thing. Also: I want a cookie. I have tried to quit sugar like 15 times this month, and it never works because when I’m writing I CRAVE SUGAR specifically cookies, and there’s a great bakery within driving distance to me (which in LA is 30 minutes) so I can’t NOT get in the car and get myself a cookie. It helps my creativity….yeah, that’s it. By the time you read this I will have eaten a cookie (or two) and be filled with self-loathing and then I’ll be at my new standing desk STANDING and thinking about how many more dozens of calories I’ll be burning rather than sitting on my ass looking at social media. As you can see, I’m trying to better myself. But I’m still getting that cookie. Or two.
You can get Hannah’s book on Aug 7. Here’s a preorder: http://harper.hc.com/mydrunkkitchen/#_=_
To correct my statement, this is NOT the first guest I’ve had on the channel, Jane Lui and I did a song together, so I’m already a liar in the video. I’m terrible. Also, I filmed a little interview on creativity with Allie Brosh on the set of Spellslingers a month back, but the audio is SO BAD it sounds like someone is blowing in the mic because we shot outdoors. I mean, the WIND is blowing into the mic, and if you want to go ahead and personify the “West Wind” as a “person”, that asshole ruined the video. SO THANKS MR. WIND! I might try to cut the thing down for next week, avoid the weird “whoosh” sounds, but it might not happen. NO PROMISES. And yes, I still need to upload that video on Walking Dead, but I was trying to finish Divinity Original Sin first to discuss both of them at once. Unfortunately, I’ve spent an extra 10 hours in the game reorganizing my inventory, so I’ll either throw an extra video up over the weekend or save it for next Friday’s video. Whatever guys, I can’t plan that far ahead. It’s stressing me out, and I had chickpeas for lunch so stuff is going on downtown that is like WOW it’s good I’m alone in my house. Ahem.
Yeah you can get that shirt:
http://www.welovefine.com/8404-geek-and-sundry.html#.U9XBumRDsxl
Someone at the booth decided to buy a fan the shirt even though they didn’t have money. Unfortunately, the fan was a 6 year old child. To the parent who thought that was cool: I salute you, dude/maam.
I have little to say other than that. My brain is mush due to the con crud and post-SDCC stuff. OH WAIT WE HIT 1 MILLION SUBS ON GEEKANDSUNDRY! Thank you guys! See, roaring like a weirdo wolf and inappropriately using a Meme WORKED! And….this weekend I’m going to see Galaxy and the snow sci-fi movie, I forget the name. You know why? Because…con crud. UGH. SEE YOU NEXT WEEK AND I’LL BE TYPING WITTY AND STUFF.
This week has been ALL ABOUT video games, and it kind of became work at a certain point, which isn’t TERRIBLE, I mean, 10 year old me would slap me if I was like, “Wow I had to play too many video games this week for work” but hey, we all have problems. ANYHOO we played some total awesome clunkers in Co-Optitude this batch, most notably Resident Evil 4 which made me shart myself in terror, so you guys should enjoy that. People on YoUTube seem to enjoy other people being terrified. And falling. I’m not a big horror fan, the most terrifying movie I’ve ever seen was Pan’s Labyrinth, and I was so traumatized that to this day if someone inverts their hands in front of their face I get a “YIKES” reaction. What an idiot. I’m going to Europe next week and have so much to do that I’ve decided to do none of it, which isn’t the winner’s choice, but the catatonic stress of trying to get it all done has just made me throw in the towel a bit. I mean, every time I think about packing it’s like, “Wow I need to go to the drug store for toothpaste” and then I start crying. Almost. Anyway, check out my feliciaday.com site for a blog entry on where to find me in London and Paris, and then I’m doing a birthday vacation. So…you can’t come to that. Word of the week: Shart. Because I used it earlier and i like they way it feels on my tongue. The word, not the actual shart. Ew.

Click http://youtube.com/geekandsundry to subscribe and stuff. I have a bunch of other footage from my trip and I’m gonna string it together in the next weeks because BOY are slide shows about people’s trips FUN BEANS! As a side note, I’ve been really good about reading all the comics that have been backlogged in my stack. I just finished Lazarus which is SO good I want the next trade immediately. Also, God Hates Astronauts might be my fave thing I’ve read in a while, it’s so weird, when the owl mafia starts coming out of the woodwork and someone punches an owl’s head out their anus, you really know you’re reading a distinctive piece of art. We have a really crappy slot for Comicon this year, 6pm on Sat, which sucks but I guess we can all be drunk because it’s so late in the day, so that could be a bonus. We’re gonna give stuff away at the panel as prizes so come just for that, I’m bribing you, see how that works? I’m mostly looking forward to the offsite event at Jolt n’ Joes because we have a fabulous DJ who plays video game chiptune stuff and I love throwing parties because people thank me a lot for them, and everyone enjoyed it last year, or so they said to my face. There are so many douchey parties with fancy lists on them down at SDCC no one less than Bruce Willis can get into, I love that we’re the renegade alt party in the scene, the sullen hipster of the geek crowd. Yeah, that feels good. I was gone for 3 weeks and Cubby got some allergic reaction and his ears got bumps on them, so basically my brother tried to kill my dog while I was away. He also trained him that he can ask for 4 walks a day, so basically never leave your dog with anyone if you don’t want their soul corrupted. I gotta go, I have a writing deadline that keeps extending because I can’t make the deadline. I guess it’s not really a deadline if I keep extending it, but soon I’m gonna be in a world of hurt. Word of the week: Contract. “Something you have to do.” oops.

This video is not particularly funny and I don’t wanna hear “this wasn’t funny” because it was meant to be HELPFUL. I wasn’t thinking about your chuckle bone when I did it. I was thinking about your MIND BONE. Whatever that means. Also I had way too much caffeine and worked out this morning (ow my ass cheeks) and just RAMBLED SO MUCH so it took 3 hours to edit this video and now I’m cranky because I was SUPPOSED to be writing all day and that didn’t happen because I’m a motormouth assnut. So now I can’t finish the Telltale Fables game I’m in the middle of OR watch Penny Dreadful tonight OR…whatever it is that I wanted to do. For reasons. And I could write NOW, but going in my office on a Friday night to work seems lame. Way lamer than finishing that Fables game, Wolf something or other. Did you read that comic? Why am I treating this like a conversation? I hope everyone else is having a kick ass Friday night. I might just drink more caffeine and use a magic eraser on the scuffs on my walls until 1am. Like I did last Friday night. Don’t judge me. That wall was dirty. I also swept leaves outside and got spider bites all over my hands, but hell if you can’t eat off the patio ground now. And that’s not dysfunctional AT ALL. Word of the week…conniption. Which I’m kind of throwing as I write this. So apropos. Which could also be the word for the week. I’ll go get the magic eraser now.
As a friend of all animals I kind of hate my dog right now. He is pretty adorable, but is hella old, I think at least 11 or 12, and his hips and back legs don’t work very well, and he trips when he goes over the curb or up the stairs which is bittersweet cute like a Hallmark commercial, and I was pretty convinced he went deaf this week, and it made me cry. He totally didn’t respond to me when I snuck up behind him or yelled his name annoyingly from a foot away at all. But then I found out he isn’t deaf, he was just ignoring me because when other people snuck up on him or called his name, he totally perked up. So I told him he was going to the glue factory, and he…ignored me again. What a jerk. Finished Child of Light, that was such a beautiful game, and Penny Dreadful was awesome, I love Eva Green, and not just for her boobs, which are pretty much objectively as a non-lesbian anatomy specialist, the BEST boobs ever caught on film. That one film about Paris she was in, you know the one? SO MUCH NAKED. And she’s amazing. Anyway, that went weird really fast. This week playing some Transistor, yes I have a press copy because I know people, and then trying to watch The Good Wife, because someone bought me all the DVDs and they’ve been sitting here, guilting me like crazy for five months. As have my multi-vitamins. And my…credit card bills, craaaaaap! Word of the week: licentiousness. Because of the Eva Green boobs thing I feel bad now. Truly Licentious..ness. Ugh. 🙁
I write these descriptions as fast as I can when the video is uploading and I had a glitch in making the GORGEOUS custom thumbnail, so I’m hauling ass on this one. 20% left. I had a fried chicken sandwich for lunch that was great going down and for some reason left my mouth tasting like asshole, so I’m trying to wash it away with kale juice, which is a grosser combo, especially since I’m eating a lemon meringue pie at the same time that’s as big as my head. Seriously, it is, check my Twitter, it’s large and I’m feeling sicker with each bite, but I can’t stop eating because it makes the ass taste go away when I chew. Temporarily. This is SO much better than going to brush my teeth. Did anyone watch Penny Dreadful already? I am doing it tonight, and all I want to see is Eva Green in pretty dresses, but from the show description I think there’s murder going along with the wardrobe too. I don’t like scary movies, in fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one all the way through, except for arty ones like Guillermo Del Toro ones, that guy I’ll watch any kind of murder for. Oh crap, 5% gotta wrap it up! Word of the week…uh….”wanion”. A great misfortune. I bet it’s used in Penny Dreadful, because it’s a period piece. ‘It was a great wanion that Felicia decided to eat an ass chicken sandwich, especially for the guests at her evening BBQ.” crap..1 per….c.e.nt…postedddddddd
The books I mentioned were “Bird By Bird”, “If You Want To Write” and “The Artist’s Way.” I know half of you will be asking in the comments instead of scrobbling back to hear it, which is really quite counterproductive because your scrobbling is WAY more efficient than posting and waiting for minutes or hours for someone to come to your rescue, but hey, it’s YouTube. Many people will also comment on my hair, whether they like/hate it, and then two or three will comment on the things in the background. I love those people the most. Keen observers will note that I missed last week’s upload, and have decided to not apologize for it in the video, GOOD FOR ME! These videos are for no one else but my fun, and if I happen to be traveling to Canada and doing amazing things I’ll talk about in my NEXT video, well, sometimes you might not get a video. That’s life and you will DEAL WITH IT OMG IM SORRY PLEASE DONT HATE ME AND STUFF. This week I watched Salem which was weird because there was a scene with nursing a frog on a thigh nipple and I was like “WTF with the majesty of this weirdness I LOVE THIS SHOW” and I watched Shield because it’s gotten super good since they made the pretty man a bad guy. Okay I have to go write my own stuff now, make sure to leave in the comments if you start writing! Which would be the act of writing. So technically everyone is doing it without my asking. So I’ll claim credit for inspiring every comment. Including the shitty ones. Word of the week then is Megalodon, which is a huge prehistoric shark that was a gajillion feet long and had seven inch teeth, and the word is close enough to megalomanic that it feels not similar to this situation at all, but i just wanted you to picture being eaten by something that fucking large. You’d be snack food, basically.

I didn’t edit this at all, I’m sorry I wasn’t lazy, it was because I was already too late to upload and I had a salt hangover. I don’t generally eat after 7pm because of my stupid stomach issues, but we went to Wondercon all day yesterday and I met a ton of people and had a panel and then talked with MORE people (enough with this socializing) and then my stomach was screaming at me, so we stopped at a Chicago hot dog place on the way back to LA from Anaheim and I got a hot dog. And the whole time I’m screaming, STOP DONT EAT THIS HOT DOG but every juicy, salty bite in my mouth was soooooogoooood. Then I couldn’t sleep all night and I woke up feeling like I had 5 Mai Tais, which I’ve done in the past but not last night and I thought WOW THAT HOT DOG WASNT AS GOOD AS 5 MAI TAIS. So anyway, that happened. But the panel went well and Wil Wheaton and I did almost an hour of Q and A and talked about sperm and the slutty maid game I love so much called Tanto Cuore where you basically hire maids and lock them in a room for points and when you put it that way it’s creepy but it’s basically Dominion with…anime maids, and yeah, it’s questionable but I love it and Wil won’t let it on Tabletop so WHATEVER WIL ITS YOUR SHOW. Also the other show I’ve been working on a ton, Spooked, showed the trailer and everyone loved it and I was like YES SIX MONTHS OF MY LIFE WORTH IT. So it’s all good now, and I’ll never eat a hotdog at 10pm again, I promise. I also spent about $150 on stuff for this video and didn’t get any receipts so I hope you like it and screw you if you wanted jump cuts. Go to another video for jump cuts, they’re free. Oh word of the week is masticate. I want to masticate a hot dog never again. Hmm…sounded weird.
Ask a matter of fact, yes I have a birthmark. It’s on my right shoulder and I looked the meaning up on a mystical yoga website (which also sells DVDs for 49.99) and it said that right shoulder birthmarks indicate good fortune. Stomach birthmarks, however, mean you are a selfish and greedy person. I have a mole on my stomach, but I have a feeling it’s just a vestigial nipple and doesn’t could in the birthmark column. This week I tried to stop eating sugar, from the video and the humongous rice krispie treat I eat at the top (and continued to eat over the following hours) I didn’t succeed. It’s my kryptonite, and I’m beginning to think that cutting out sugar might be where the world just turns into the, “not worth it to live longer” category. I mean, apples aren’t a fucking dessert, I don’t care who is trying to convince you. Neither is yoghurt. I actually despise yoghurt, but I eat it every morning (goat’s milk because the cow stuff makes me farty) and ever bite is like eating reconstituted puke in my mouth. WAY TO START THE DAY! But it’s for my stomach and vaginal health, so it’s required. I also eat a boiled egg every morning and wonder if that’s healthy or not, but I just really like the process of boiling eggs once a week and shoring up, like it’s an apocalypse and I could definitely survive in my house if I didn’t go ANYWHERE. On eggs. And yoghurt. Yeah…word of the week…Pour Over. Because all those douchey baristas are all into their “Pour over” coffee now, but I can’t drink coffee anymore due to my toxic stomach problems, so fuck that word and the baristas and the whole species of coffee plant *SOBBING*
